Film Clubs are extra-curricular activities organized by students for their peers. One World Romania at School provides a film library and additional materials for each of the films and offers assistance with managing the clubs. The Club Coordinator is always in touch with the students and offers them advice for organizing and promoting the clubs and for choosing the right guests for after film discussions.
One World Romania at School organizes regular trainings for the film club’s leaders, in which they can learn the basic steps for putting together and promoting the events. During these trainings the students are also taught how to moderate a discussion about the film and how to get their colleagues involved in activities and debates.
Being a film club organizer is comparable to a project management internship. It is a real opportunity for students to develop their coordination and communication skills. Moreover, the existence of a film club network makes for exchange meetings where youths with common interests can connect.
